Stronger Brains for ALL Children

  • Dr. Michael Merzenich

    Professor Emeritus of UCSF, winning a multitude of awards throughout his career, Michael is the brain behind Stronger Brains. For nearly five decades, he has been an internationally renowned, leading pioneer in brain plasticity research. He was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 1999 and the Institute of Medicine in 2008. In 2016, he was awarded one of the world’s top neuroscience prizes, the Kavli Prize, for his achievements in the field of brain plasticity.

    First National Clinical Director for Youth in the UK government, as well as the first Children’s Commissioner for England and President of the British Medical Association, Sir Al Aynsley-Green endorses the Stronger Brains program: "New work by Merzenich and Haigh is showing that disordered brain ‘wiring’ can be reversed through new ways of stimulating the brain, and I see this to be one of the most important and exciting opportunities in neurodevelopment today."

  • Wendy Haigh

    Wendy has worked closely with governments, corporates, banks, investors and NFPs to build the market for impact investing. Prior to launching Stronger Brains, she was Deputy Chair of the Capital Working Group of Impact Investing Australia. Wendy has an honours degree in accounting, and has completed executive education courses at both Harvard Business School and Stanford Graduate School of Management. Her goal is to invest in healthy, positive futures for ALL children.
